>> MASTER'S - MBA, MS, MA UNIVERSITY DEGREE
Objective: The Master's degree programs provide students specialized training in a field of study, or major. Students acquire the practical knowledge and specific skills in courses that relate directly to the student's concentration. The specialized and practical training that BIU offers through the Master's program has become almost compulsory at the workplace. This is one of the reasons why alternative educational programs, such as those offered at BIU, enjoy so much popularity in the corporate world.
Academic requirements and duration: Students must complete other 700 additional hours of study; i.e. 70 credits more than in the Bachelor's program. Duration of the program ranges from 6 months to 1 year at an average of 10 weekly hours of study. Usually, duration of the program varies in relation to the amount of credits that the candidate is awarded for previous knowledge and experience (revalidation) and the students' dedication to studying. The course curricula are based on textbook material (70 %) and individual research projects commensurable with the course syllabus and the student's personal goals. The final exam consists of a 15 to 25 page report based on each of the textbooks covered in the program. In addition, the Master's candidate must submit a 50 page project paper on the student's major.
Restricted Admission. Admission is restricted to adults of 25 years of age or over who have earned a Bachelor's degree or equivalent amount of academic credits. In addition, from the total number of credits earned in the Master's program, a minimum of 25 must be earned through a revalidation of prior knowledge or experience. Credits granted can proceed from a number of sources; namely, experience and knowledge gained independently (revalidation), seminars attended, and credits transferred from other universities.
Completion of program by full validation: Students interested in obtaining the M.A. or the M.S. degrees by a full validation of their experience and knowledge must fill out the application form entirely (pages 1 to 3), attach copies of all the transcripts and certificates of seminars and courses attended, and submit to BIU for consideration. As part of the full validation process, the candidate must submit a 50 page project paper developed in the students major. |
