1 ACADEMIC CREDIT = 10 Hours of Study.
BIU requires a minimum of 30% of TRANS and/or CFLEX credits validated prior to admission into any academic degree program (Bachelor's, Master's & Ph.D.). BIU credits are internationally accredited by EQAC - Educational Quality Accrediting Commission. Credit composition is the following:
35% Reading time.
10% Useful comprehension.
15% Notes & data organization.
40% Report writing.
1 CEU (Continuing Education Unit) = 10 Hours of Study.
Educational units with no academic value to show accomplished work at professional levels (certificate, specialist & expert diplomas). BIU CEUs are officially recognized by the IACET - International Association of Continuing Education & Training and they may be accounted toward any higher degree.
TRANS - TRANSFERRED CREDITS.
BIU Transcript clearly shows the total amount of credits accepted from other educational institutions. Transferred credits are identified with a TRANS Code and followed by a one line description of major and the name of the institution.
CFLEX - CREDIT FOR LIFE & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE.
The University recognizes knowledge and skills through various work/life experiences and independent learning which may be equivalent to some university course credits. Transcript will show the total amount of credits gained from prior knowledge and experience up to a maximum of 25% of the total credits required to complete any degree program. These credits are identified with a CFLEX Code.
Syllabus - Academic Program.
Every subject is briefly described and accounts for 3 academic credits. In some cases, there may be changes in the syllabus depending on student curriculum vitae, and credits validated from CFLEX and TRANS. BIU Transcript will always show the amount of total study earned. Diploma and Transcript are always issued in English.
