Who are we?
BIU MENA Delegation is the official exclusive representative of Bircham International
University in the Middle East and North Africa region. Our delegation covers
the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
With more than a quarter of a centuty experince in the educational field, the
BIU MENA Staff delegate are delegently working to supply BIU students with the
best educational solution and support to make them achieve their career goals
faster and better
Bircham International University was conceived as a private, self-governing
institution committed to providing higher education for the 21st century. Established
in Europe by some of the most recognized educators, BIU offers a revolutionary
distance learning program intended to fulfill the needs of the professional
student.
From the inception of BIU in 1992, BIU Academic Board has worked hard to integrate
a variety of methodologies. We have new disciplines and cultures. We have also
tried to assimilate the core features of educational systems. This will present
our institution as one that accommodates the demands of each culture and language,
without losing sight of its essential international character. Doctors from
all countries have joined BIU Academic Board.
BIU today is recognized or is a member of more than 10 international and reputable
organizations from the European Union and the U.S.A.

Dear Student:
Welcome to Bircham International University.
We all have preconceived notions and myths closing the doors to future opportunities
of success. A commonly held myth is that education is only valid if it has been
pursued through years of attending classes at a university campus. We still
find it hard to believe that a perfectly valid degree can be legitimately earned
via distance learning; and yet, it is possible. In fact, many Departments of
Human Resources highly consider those employees showing the willpower, responsibility,
motivation, and capacity for self-improvement needed for ongoing learning at
the workplace.
We forget that education is only a means of providing us with the tools to
accomplish increasingly qualified tasks in our professional career. If, because
of our prior experience, we are already qualified to accomplish some of these
tasks, the level of learning required of us will be much lower than if we lack
such professional knowledge. For this reason, when designing the student's academic
program, we consider all the prior knowledge that the student has accumulated
along his/her professional life. What is really important is what the student
knows, and not how he/she has acquired this knowledge.
Clearly, our appreciation for learning is higher in adulthood, after having
accumulated a number of years of professional experience. The reason for this
is very simple: in our youth, when we decide to pursue an education, we lack
the capacity or maturity to understand how to use and apply the knowledge that
we are being exposed to. Thus, we resort to memorization, falsely believing
that we are actually learning what we are memorizing. However, shortly after,
we forget everything. This is because our brain functions efficiently: it simply
discards information that lacks practical applications, whether intellectual
or emotional. On the other hand, after accumulating years of experience, we
acquire the capacity to identify exactly what will enable us to accomplish our
professional functions more efficiently. A casual conversation, a good book,
or even a speech is thus permanently stored in our mind with no memorization
involved.
We are not more efficient because we study more or because we read more, but
because we know how to better apply our knowledge in real-life scenarios. Studying
and reading more allow us to become better educated, but learning to apply knowledge
practically is what enables us to make sound decisions and act sensibly in life.
And this is exactly the type of knowledge that we will need to succeed in the
professional world. It is by yielding positive results and finding solutions
that the quality of our education comes forward. We are all tired of hearing
the success stories of people with little education. In such situations, we
tend to wonder, "how did they do it?" The answer is simple: they applied
their knowledge in a practical manner and they capitalized on it.
BIU is an alternative to traditional education. Undoubtedly, the best education
an individual can receive is by attending classes on a regular basis. In this
ideal situation, students can meet with their professors, make use of the school's
facilities and benefit from the scholar environment. However, not everyone has
the time or money needed to invest in traditional education. In these changing
times, it is absolutely necessary to dispose of acceptable alternatives when
deciding to obtain higher education and a university degree.
These are some of the founding principles upon which BIRCHAM INTERNATIONAL
UNIVERSITY has built its methodology and academic infrastructure. The results
are so revolutionary that the time and conditions established to allow a student
to earn a higher education degree seem almost unbelievable.
Our Little Great History
In 1992, in the mid of this wave of evolution, sprung an initiative aiming at
resolving the inefficiencies related to traditional education when directed
at professionals and adults over 25 years of age. This alternative form of education
took on the challenge to become the best distance learning university in the
world within a period of twenty years. This engagement was not based on pride.
As we know, all schools always consider themselves to be the best, in our case
four differentiating factors confirm our uniqueness:
Pedagogy + Management + Technology:
The Distance Learning System, integral management, ongoing quality control,
high technology and the sophisticated telecommunication network on which our
teaching is based summarize the core features of our institution and allowed
us to get the backing and accreditation from prestigious international organizations.
Integration of Cultures + Languages:
Our educational system is adapted to the exigencies of the main cultural environments
and languages. At present, we offer education in English, Spanish and Chinese,
covering 90% of the world linguistic capacity. Other languages will soon be
available.
Guarantee of Multiple Legality:
At BIU we endorse the legalization process and corresponding authorizations
from the most representative countries in which we are established: USA, European
Union & Commonwealth. This not only offers the students a strong guarantee
and a uniquely solid legal position, but also allows our degrees to be simultaneously
issued by various countries and legalized internationally in any of those countries.
Today we are legalized in: USA (Delaware), European Union (Spain & UK) and
the British Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Within a few years, it will not be
necessary to get our degrees validated or accredited as they will automatically
be recognized by countries from the seven continents.
Selection Process and Quality of our Students:
BIU is designed for those individuals who have learned from their own experience,
have the willpower to learn and have the dedication and motivation to strive
towards constant improvement. The selection process allows us to insure that
the candidates to our degrees fulfill these requirements.
